The Gate is a decent enough vegetarian restaurant, the dishes quite interesting but having rather patchy execution, though to be fair it is not very expensive…

They’ve taken over a handsome building, formerly a Med Kitchen, opposite Sadler’s Wells theatre. Clever them: if vegetarians account for about five per cent of the population, I bet that spikes hectically during a performance of Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch…
