Gordon Ramsay to open Union Street Cafe

[Updated with opening date and restaurant profile & booking page]
Gordon Ramsay’s latest restaurant is set to open on 16 September 2013.
Union Street Café will be located in a converted warehouse at the intersection of Union Street and Great Suffolk Street in Southwark, a short stroll from Borough Market.
The kitchen will use a mix of seasonal Mediterranean ingredients and produce from local Borough and Maltby Street markets. The menu will change daily but we can expect dishes with a Southern European flavour such as torn pasta with artichoke, pancetta, mint and ricotta; veal carpaccio with lemon, anchovy, olive and celery; or baked spiny lobster with chilli and marjoram.
There will also be a downstairs bar with a range of cocktails accompanied by small dishes from a separate bar snacks menu.
Social Media had been buzzing with rumours that Ramsay’s friend David Beckham would be a co-investor in the venue, but these rumours turned out to be unfounded. Instead, the duo are now said to be looking into working together on a new chain of pie & mash restaurants.
Book now on our Union Street Cafe profile page, check back later to see what the critics say or follow us on twitter and you’ll find out how Ramsay’s latest foray into London’s restaurant scene is shaping up.
